Jesus said, “Not everyone who says to me ‘Lord, Lord’ will enter the kingdom of heaven…” These words from Matthew 7 should strike fear in the hearts of every believer, especially those who claim to be Christians and think they are going to heaven, but they just don’t have time for God in their daily lives. They may claim to believe in Jesus—doesn’t it say that’s “enough” to get the golden ticket to heaven? Then why does Jesus tell those who believe in him enough to call him Lord, “I never knew you; depart from me you workers of lawlessness”? And what if it’s our spouse, or our kids, who think they are “good to go”, but you have this sinking feeling they just don’t get it?
