There’s a lot of confusion out there these days…and much of it involves a complete mishandling and misunderstanding of God, Who He is, what He does, and most importantly, what He expects from us. But too often, rather than taking the time to learn and think about God, we take the salvation He offers and run, living our lives as we like. Since “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge”, and since what we understand about God will affect absolutely every belief, opinion and relationship we have, let’s spend some time today getting to know this Infinite Being we’ve said we serve.

“The LORD Our Banner”
Exodus 17:14-16 | Then the Lord said to Moses, “Write this for a memorial in the book and recount it in the hearing of Joshua, that I will utterly blot out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven.” And Moses built an altar and called its name, The-Lord-Is-My-Banner (YHWHnissi); for he said, “Because the Lord has sworn: the Lord will have war with Amalek from generation to generation.”

20 and blessed be God Most High, who has delivered your enemies into your hand!” And Abram gave him a tenth of everything. 21 And the king of Sodom said to Abram, “Give me the persons, but take the goods for yourself.”22 But Abram said to the king of Sodom, “I have lifted my hand to the Lord, God Most High, Possessor of heaven and earth, 23 that I would not take a thread or a sandal strap or anything that is yours, lest you should say, ‘I have made Abram rich.’

While an infinite God has infinite attributes, there are some that we must understand to truly know and obey Him.
So given that God is all these things…
How should we look at Him?
How should we look at ourselves in relation?
How should we look at our circumstances? our possessions? our time?
How should we look at and treat others?
